Severe pain after conization
January 4, 2012 | 25,00 EUR | answered by Dr. med. Ralf Berg
I had a conization exactly 2 weeks ago today, during which a relatively large piece had to be cut out. It bled quite heavily in the first few days, but now hardly at all. Until Sunday, I hardly had any pain, but since then it has been quite painful, to the point where I can hardly bear it. Since I don't know if this is normal, I don't want to immediately see my gynecologist. Is it normal for the pain to come so late and then be quite severe, and what can/should I do?
Hello and good evening,
unfortunately, this is not normal, especially since the primary healing process seemed to be problem-free. Please consult your gynecologist and get yourself examined.
There may be a wound healing disorder, such as an infection, etc. I would advise you to research the cause before resorting to painkillers.
I am sorry that I cannot give you a clean bill of health in your case, I wish you all the best with kind regards, Dr. R. Berg.
