Ultrasound of the breast
Hello, I am 53 years old and have to go for an ultrasound every six months due to a very cystic breast. The last mammogram was a year ago. A year ago I also had a core biopsy, but it turned out to be just a fibroid. On Monday I went to my gynecologist for a check-up and he found a round lesion with a dorsal acoustic shadow, he said it could also just be calcium and gave me a referral to the senology department. When I search for this online, I always see "carcinoma" immediately next to acoustic shadow. I am completely distraught, my appointment in senology is not until in 2 weeks. Is there still hope that the lesion is not malignant, it is about 1 cm and the gynecologist practically found no blood flow during the Doppler test. It is also close to the nodule where a core biopsy was performed last year. Can I still hope that everything turns out to be harmless or is an acoustic shadow practically proof of malignancy?
Thank you
Best regards
