Emergency contraception

Good day! I am 48 years old and had to take Unofem on Saturday evening. So far, I am coping with the side effects (fatigue, dizziness, skin irritations). Now my question is, could the side effects get worse and is it possible to start taking the pill (Lamuna 20) with the next menstruation? I am a bit concerned that the concentrated hormones might be too much, as I do not know when the pill will be metabolized by the body. Thank you in advance for your response!
Hello,
The side effects usually only last for a few days, and it is not expected that they will get worse. Of course, this is a "high dose" of hormones! You could have taken the pill for several months for the same effect, but that's why Unofem is only taken in emergencies, when it really is necessary.
You can start taking Lamuna with the beginning of your period; the dose it contains is negligible compared to what you have already taken. The body quickly metabolizes the hormones from Unofem, so there are no concerns here.
