Hymen
Hello. I am 21 years old and for as long as I can remember, my hymen has been protruding from my vagina. At least, I believe that's what it is. It is a thin, pink membrane that, as far as I can feel, starts quite close to the vaginal opening and hangs out slightly. I find it quite uncomfortable. Honestly, I have never been to a gynecologist (due to shame and fear from childhood traumas). Am I correct in assuming that it is my (torn) hymen? Does this happen to other women as well? Can I have it removed, and if so, how is it done?
