Finding

Dear Dr. Klaczinski or other doctor,
Today I was prescribed Arilin Vaginal Suppositories by my gynecologist because, as in the past year, there was a finding of Group II during the preventive examination. (This means that the cell sample needs to be monitored, because there were inflammatory components mixed with mucus and blood in the sample. I have no complaints except for occasional itching. Since I do not like taking antibiotics and have had problems (dizziness, age 60) with other antibiotics, my question is whether there is an alternative. I have heard of Mayoran suppositories. Please provide an open and honest opinion. Thank you.
Dear questioner,
a PAP II is a normal finding (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pap_test), PAP I is very rare. However, if inflammatory cells were found, the question is whether it was really caused by bacteria. This can only be confirmed by culturing the bacteria in the laboratory...that would be a different swab. Mayoran suppositories help with symptoms such as discharge or burning, but you don't have these. The itching is more likely due to dryness related to age, for which Vagisan moisturizing cream or Vulniphan suppositories with hyaluronic acid can help.
Again, my advice to you is to ask your gynecologist again which bacteria need to be treated. As an alternative to Arrilin, VagiHex is an antiseptic that kills bacteria locally without side effects...you can ask a follow-up question, request the name of the bacteria that needs to be treated, and then get back in touch.
Regards, E. Klaczinski
