Gastrointestinal

Hello everyone,
I have a little concern. Yesterday evening I ate kebab meat without sauce, without bread, just the meat. About 1 hour later I had diarrhea, then nothing during the night, and this morning I felt so nauseous that I immediately vomited a lot of liquid and had watery stool twice after drinking something. In general, I feel a bit weak and sick. What can I do now or what have I caught? I just finished my treatment for Helicobacter a week ago, now this again. I think it's from the food I ate yesterday.
I still have some Amoxi 1000 tablets, should I maybe just take them again?
Good morning,
Taking Amoxi would be the worst thing you could do! It attacks the intestines and does not help with your symptoms at all.
Iberogast helps with nausea, and Loperamide helps with diarrhea, both of which are available over the counter. It's hard to say whether you have caught salmonella or a viral infection, but both are treated in the same way. Please only consume tea, water, white bread, and rusks until you feel better. Once you start feeling better, slowly introduce more food, but avoid heavy or hard-to-digest foods like kebabs.
If you still have problems on Monday, your general practitioner can send a stool sample for testing for salmonella, for example.
Take it easy over the weekend and avoid carbonated drinks.
Take care!
Warm regards, Dr. Höllering
