Ask a doctor on the topic of Internal medicine

Cold and soccer

Hello everyone,
quick question, I have a slight cold, a bit of a runny nose and my ears are a bit blocked. I also feel a bit under the weather physically. I have a very important football game tonight. I'm not in top shape, but can I play without any worries, or is it really true what's written everywhere online that it can be dangerous for the heart and I might just collapse? That's my concern right now.
Best regards

Dear inquirer, if you want to hear the official opinion of a doctor on this topic, they will always say "first recover, then do sports" because the possibility of a heart inflammation exists with every infection, whether viral or bacterial. However, it is unlikely with only mild cold symptoms. Do you have any questions? Regards, c.welsch
