Thrombosis ??

Hello everyone,
for a few weeks now I have been experiencing sharp, cramp-like pains mostly in my left back thigh. It pinches and sometimes stabs, it's just weird. What could it be? I take magnesium daily, but sometimes when I sit for long periods my thigh feels extremely tense and I feel like I need to move. Should I be worried? I am usually quite active with weightlifting and soccer, but this is really strange. Just now I also feel a pressure at the buttocks. Hmm, strange...
Thank you in advance for your help.

Good evening,

I am happy to help you.

Indeed, there could be a thrombosis or arterial circulation disorder behind it. But a muscular cause (muscle fiber tear?) is also possible.

Please have yourself examined by your general practitioner to see if further investigations (ultrasound or angiography) are necessary.

For now, try not to worry, but please have it checked.

Do you have any questions about this? I am happy to assist you.

All the best and a speedy recovery!

Kind regards,

Dr. K. Hamann
