Mucous membrane inflammation?

Hello dear team,
I have a problem in what is actually the most beautiful time of the year, on vacation since last night before the flight I had heartburn and took a Pantoprazole after eating, then I had stabbing, pulling stomach pains in bursts. Today I have hardly eaten anything and drank chamomile tea and got some Turkish drops herbal, as I have always had stomach problems quietly. Last week I also had an endoscopy, the result was a slight inflammation and helic... bacterium, but since last night it's bearable at times and then very strong pain again. Could this now be an acute inflammation of the mucous membrane? What else can I do besides Pantoprazole, chamomile tea, etc.? I ate a soup in the evening, very little, and got pain, then I tried a small piece of something sweet and had no pain!?

Dr. med. Frauke Gehring

Good evening,

It is quite possible that there is now an acute inflammation in the stomach. However, Pantoprazole only helps if taken on an empty stomach, please do so in the next few days in the morning on an empty stomach.
Please avoid fatty, spicy, hot, fried, or too much food at once until you feel better.

All the best!

Sincerely, Dr. Höllering
