Ask a doctor on the topic of Gynecology

short period

Hello, I am 33 years old, I have been taking the pill Lamuna 20 for 15 years and have had normal bleeding for years, but usually only need 1 pad a day. During my last period from 2.1. - 6.1., on the morning of the 6th I only had a light brownish color, which was gone by the evening. And then there was only a trace of a small amount of gel-like mucus on the toilet paper. What could this be?

Dr. med. Frauke Gehring

Good evening,

First of all, of course, pregnancy cannot be ruled out if it is even possible. However, there are also hormonal reasons why the withdrawal bleeding is so short: For example, it may be due to stress, but also due to ovarian disorders.

If pregnancy is not excluded, a test would show it at this point.

I would recommend seeing a gynecologist if pain occurs or if the next period is also very light.

All the best!

Best regards, Dr. Höllering
