Vitamin D deficiency dizziness

Hello,

for several months now, I have been experiencing dizziness attacks every day. After visiting the doctor multiple times, he mentioned that it could be caused by stress.

At my request, an MRI was done on my head and also on my cervical spine. The results: everything is fine.

Last week, blood was taken and it turns out that my Vitamin D levels are around 13 ng/ml.

The doctor has not had time to go over the results with me yet. Now, I read on the internet that the dizziness I experience almost every day could be due to a lack of Vitamin D.

I have started taking 1,000 I.U. and after taking it, I had to lie down in bed for 2 hours because the dizziness became even more extreme.

What units should I take with my low levels to make the levels more stable?

I am really struggling with this dizziness, especially because I have two young children.

In winter, the normal value for adults is between 10 and 50 ng/ml. More recent values consider 20 ng/ml as the lower limit, but two-thirds of the population do not reach this level. 13 ng/ml is still considered normal.

Furthermore, a vitamin D deficiency cannot directly cause dizziness, but only indirectly through damage to the blood vessels, which takes a long time and is practically excluded in a young, otherwise healthy individual.

Dizziness can come from the brain, which is unlikely, from the balance organ in the ear, which is common, or from the neck area, which is most likely. Changes in the neck area are muscular and cannot be seen on an MRI. This is about tension.

I would recommend getting an ABC plaster from the pharmacy tomorrow and applying it to the neck area. Next, massages and physiotherapy would be advisable, which you should discuss with your primary care physician.

Regarding the intake of vitamin D, you can take 1000 IU per day, but it is better to spend enough time outdoors and especially in the sun. The intake of vitamin D does not have the same effect as self-produced vitamin D. Getting lots of fresh air would also be good for your children, and since they will be tired afterwards, you will also get some rest.
