Breast cysts in MRI abdomen

Good day. During an MRI of the abdomen, mammary cysts were found as an incidental finding. These are small and only require clarification if there are any complaints, according to the radiologist. Can I therefore skip a mammogram? A gynecological check-up was performed just a few weeks ago and everything was examined.
Hello,
Cysts are accumulations of water and initially have nothing to do with cancer or suspicion of cancer.
Cysts occur quite frequently and are often cycle-dependent. That means they come regularly and then go away again.
Small cysts cannot be felt, but many women are familiar with changes in breast size depending on the menstrual cycle. This is the result of water accumulations either diffusely in the tissue or in small cysts.
So you don't have to worry about small cysts, especially if everything was recently examined.
I can't see a reason for a mammogram. If you are very worried, you should take the MRI findings to your gynecologist so he can look at the size (or "small") and possibly examine the relevant areas again.
Overall, small cysts are definitely not a cause for concern.
Best regards,
Dr. Schaaf
