Ask a doctor on the topic of General medicine

What to do in case of fatigue, low blood pressure, and low body temperature.

Hello doctors,

I "suffer" from my fatigue. I sleep quite a lot, about 10 hours, and I become tired again relatively early. Even when I am awake, my energy level quickly drops and my eyes become heavy. I am 35 years old, male, 1.74 meters tall, and weigh about 75 KG.

What strikes me as unusual is that when I rarely go swimming, my eyes "light up" and I feel wide awake. It seems like an extraordinary state to me.

As additional information, I would like to mention that doctors have mentioned relatively low blood pressure in me over the past 10 years (never concerning, but low) and that I generally have a low body temperature - on average, I would classify it as around 55.7 degrees. The lowest value so far has been 55, often 55.5, and almost never over 36 degrees. I mention this because, based on my research, it may be relevant. There have been no specific abnormalities regarding vitamin deficiencies or similar in blood tests for other issues in recent years.

I would like to feel more alert and energetic, and since I can sleep more than all my friends and family, I am now looking for possible approaches.

Best regards.

Dear inquirer, I assume that hypothyroidism and a vitamin deficiency have been ruled out. If your blood pressure is consistently low, alternating showers and exercise can help. If not already done, a potential cause during sleep should be ruled out using a polysomnography. Regards, Welsch
