Ask a doctor on the topic of General medicine

MPU stands for "Medical Psychological Examination" and is a test that assesses a person's ability to operate a motor vehicle safely.

Hello, I have an upcoming MPU and unfortunately forgot that a blood test/liver values will be taken. Male/180cm/75kg, otherwise rarely to little consumption, but due to an event (celebration) I drank a bottle of wine each for 2 days and now I have been abstinent for 7 days after the event. No medications etc. I have - unfortunately too late- read that with a blood test the GGT, GOT, GPT and MCV levels are measured and this alcohol consumption could be detected?
I checked the urine with Combur 10 test strips and found no increases in values, all in the "0" range.
Now I am confused, should I postpone the MPU to avoid an explanation?

Hello, the GammaGt can be elevated for up to 2 weeks, then there is another value called CDT - Value (Carbohydrate-Deficient Transferrin) which reliably indicates regular consumption. This value is usually not measured routinely. If you have been abstinent for a long time before the celebration and now started again, I would expect the values you mentioned to be normal. Medications such as antibiotics or painkillers, as well as acute inflammations, can also increase liver values.
