Urgently lower fever?

Fever. I've been lying in bed since yesterday with a bad cold. I'm just sleeping. Sweating a lot.
Took a Paracetamol at 10:30. However, I heard that you can alternate between Paracetamol and Ibuprofen. How many hours should be between Paracetamol and Ibuprofen? Thank you.

Hello,
If you have a viral infection, then the fever is on your side. It fights the viruses, so consider carefully whether you want to fight the fever with all your might or if you would be better off sleeping and drinking a lot to give your body the opportunity to fend off the attacker.
Regarding your question: The maximum dose for a normal weight person is 3000 mg of paracetamol on a maximum of two consecutive days, after which the dose must be reduced to 1500-2000 mg per day. The maximum dose of ibuprofen is 1200-1600 mg per day.
If you want to combine both, you can take, for example, 400 mg of ibuprofen in the morning, at noon, and in the evening, and take paracetamol in between.
Before you reach the maximum doses in self-medication, it would be good to consult a doctor for advice who can examine you on-site. In Germany, you can reach the on-call service at the number 116 117.
Get well soon.
