Gastritis

I have had gastritis for 6 days now, my doctor prescribed me one tablet of Pantoprazole 20mg in the morning and evening. It has improved a bit, but it makes me very tired and my circulation is acting up. Yesterday I went back and he said to take Pantoprazole only in the evening and Gaviscon in the morning. I am still very tired and have no energy and feel slightly dizzy, what else can I do?
Good day,
Unfortunately, that could not work: Pantoprazole only works when taken on an absolutely empty stomach and then eating 30 minutes later. In the evening, the stomach is not empty, so the medication, if given then, is completely ineffective. Unfortunately, too few doctors focus on the metabolism of their medications.
Unfortunately, you did not mention how the diagnosis was made. If you have typical upper abdominal complaints, please take Pantoprazole 1x in the morning 30 minutes before breakfast.
However, other causes such as low blood pressure or hypothyroidism should be ruled out, as blood tests need to be done anyway. I believe that your complaints have a completely different cause or are due to inflammation, rather than being side effects of Pantoprazole, because it gets destroyed in the stomach with this type of intake and does not even enter your body.
Get well soon!
Sincerely, Dr. Gehring
