Transdermal Chinese urological patches, ProstaPlast, are being offered on the internet, which are said to help with prostate problems. Can these be used without any concerns and are there already experiences about side effects, etc.? Apparently, they are widely used in the USA with success.
Best regards
Dear thread creator,
Forgive me if I digress a bit, but I would generally advise against using non-German and thus untested medications, tools, or other medical products on your body, whether in urology or in medicine in general.
Certainly, there may be room for debate about pricing in medicine when it comes to products, but the testing processes and laws we have in place are there for good reason. You would not be the first person to ingest toxic substances because they were hesitant to visit a urologist to get a prescription. We often see men in our practice who have ordered and tried things themselves from the internet before seeing a doctor, sometimes resulting in long-lasting injuries or side effects afterward.
Despite 10 minutes of internet research, I could not find a sufficient description of this product. If you tell me what symptoms you are experiencing, I may be able to tell you what you need. ProstaPlast appears to be a herbal mixture preparation. There are also herbal products on the German market for the prostate that are supposed to help with urination. You could ask your pharmacy about rye suppositories or saw palmetto fruits (Sabal) and nettle roots (Urtica).
But if you are having trouble urinating, or with potency - any urologist can quickly find a "traditional" product with proven effectiveness for you.
And again, a visit to the doctor, a brief conversation, and a prescription will ultimately be cheaper, faster, and better for you than anything you can order on the internet.
Best regards,
Dr. Meyer
