Night sweats in the chest area - pneumonia has been overcome for 4 weeks - CAUSE?
Hello,
I (male, mid-50s) was diagnosed with Covid-19 until early May 21. I had pneumonia as a result (superinfection), which was treated with antibiotics in the hospital. Antibiotic treatment: 10 days
Since May 13th, I have been back home and have been taking it easy physically. I no longer have a fever,
Oxygen saturation is at 94 - 96%, resting heart rate is usually below 90.
My inflammation marker, which was almost 200 during the illness, was back to 9 on May 19th during a check-up.
Currently, I am taking NOVOPULMON, 2 times a day, as advised by my general practitioner. I do not have asthma, but this is supposed to help me recover my lung function.
In addition, I inhale 2-3 times a day with an Emser Mesh nebulizer using Emser saline solution.
My problem or my QUESTION: I sweat heavily in the CHEST AREA at night. This was the case during the illness (Covid and pneumonia), but then I also had a fever and inflammation.
Now that I am feeling better, I wonder why I still sweat heavily on my chest at night? My pajama top is wet and the sweat is cold. (The duvet is not soaked).
I would like to know:
- Could the night sweats still be related to the previous infection?
- Could this indicate a relapse? Do I still have inflammation?
- Could there be a chronic inflammation?
- Could the chest sweating be caused by NOVOPULMON?
- Should I bring this up with the doctor?
There are no other symptoms indicating B-symptoms such as fever or weight loss.
Thank you and best regards
P. Adam
