Abdominal pain

Hello, I have been experiencing pain on the right side of my abdomen, more towards the lower ribs, for weeks. The pain is stronger during exertion, but almost disappears when I rest or lie down. What should I do? Thank you. Regards, Violeta Zijan
Good morning,
In the right upper abdomen are the liver and gallbladder, unfortunately you did not mention whether an ultrasound has already been done. The intestines can also cause pain there, but all of these organs do not stop hurting when lying down. Therefore, I am more inclined to think it is a pain caused by the thoracic spine. Your pain radiates to the upper abdomen and is position-dependent. Ibuprofen should help here, as it has little effect on organ pain.
By the way, the general practitioner, as a specialist in general medicine, is the expert for the unexplained. Through a physical examination, blood tests, and ultrasound, he can already make a fairly accurate diagnosis.
I wish you all the best!
Sincerely, Dr. Gehring
