Angina Pectoris? Translation: Angina Pectoris?

I am female | 35 | Non-smoker | No use of medication.

6 years ago, I first had a nasty discomfort in the upper back area. Didn't think much of it.

Now over the years - several times, like 3 times. Informed myself. Didn't come to a conclusion. Possibly something to do with the heart?

In November, after a light jog and stress with my partner - a sudden attack.

Symptoms: Back pain always as the main symptom - for the first time with a feeling of tightness in the chest. Like something is squeezing and it radiates up to the throat.

Self-diagnosis: Gastric intestinal disorders. Gastritis - because the next day severe stomach pains occurred.

10 days of rest and medication - acid blocker, everything was fine for 4 months.

Recently another attack: Without chest tightness but a new symptom of stomach discomfort. Upper abdominal pain.

Suffering from constant bloating after eating for 4 months. Constipation and occasional diarrhea.

My question: Could these attacks possibly be due to digestive disorders?

Or acid reflux. Irritable stomach?

I have never felt nauseous. No noticeable fatigue either. No pain in the arm or jaw. No vomiting or paleness either.

Could it be gastritis? Is it possible to have such attacks at intervals?

Dr. med. Frauke Gehring

Good morning,

As a healthy woman of your age, angina pectoris is very unlikely. Since the symptoms have responded well to acid blockers, gastritis is a very plausible cause. I would recommend getting your stomach examined at some point. The digestive issues are more likely innocent, but it might be worth looking into food intolerances.

I would also recommend having your thoracic spine checked at some point. Your primary care physician may be able to perform a stress ECG to reassure you.

Warm regards, Dr. Gehring
