Sexually transmitted disease?

I have a question, I had vaginal intercourse yesterday (with a condom, but I'm not sure if the condom was intact in the end) with a prostitute. Today, after about 22 hours, I have a slight sore throat and increased urge to urinate. Is it possible that I have caught something?
Good day,
If you are referring to HIV: The first flu-like symptoms would only appear at the earliest after a week, so your symptoms are not indicative of that.
All other sexually transmitted diseases (such as Gonorrhea) do not cause sore throat unless transmitted through oral sex. Therefore, I attribute the sore throat more to a common cold.
Frequent urination even with small bladder volumes could be a sign of a Chlamydia or Gonorrhea infection, but this would be very unlikely with condom use (even if there was a hole in the condom towards the end). Therefore, I do not believe you have been infected.
If the frequent urination is bothersome, or if there is discharge or pain in the urethra, a visit to the doctor is necessary, but I do not expect that to be the case.
All the best!
Warm regards, Dr. Höllering
