Pill, antibiotics, condom torn.

Dear Sir or Madam,
I had the first day of my period on 25.09.2010. Due to a urinary tract infection, I had to take the antibiotic Cipro - 1A Pharma 250 mg. I started taking the antibiotics on 29.09.2010 and finished on 04.10.2010. I resumed taking my birth control pill on 30.09.2010 as usual. I also used a condom for additional protection, however it broke this morning.
I am now worried that I could become pregnant. But according to the information, I have already had my ovulation. And what about the effectiveness of the pill with antibiotics?
I would appreciate a prompt response.
Dear inquirer,
I understand your concern well. However, in my opinion, I can reassure you. The antibiotic Cipro contains the active substance Ciprofloxacin. According to the Red List, which describes all the properties of medications, there are no interactions with the pill.
Since you have taken the pill as usual and normally and have not vomited, the effectiveness is assured.
Although the condom broke, in this case, the pill protects against pregnancy. Please note, however, that the pill only protects against pregnancy and not against other possible sexually transmitted diseases that could be transmitted if a condom breaks.
To be completely sure, you can take a pregnancy test at the time of your next period.
I hope I could help you and wish you all the best,
Warm regards,
Susanne Plotz
