Hello,
I am 38 years old and already have 3 children aged 18, 16, and 12. I would like to have a child with my new partner. I have been off the pill for six months, and I also want to mention that I have CML and have stopped taking the medication (Glivec) earlier due to our desire for a child. I was supposed to get my period on the 21st-22nd of August, but that did not happen. However, on the 19th of August, I had a very light pinkish spotting that lasted for about half a day. On the 23rd of August, I took the first pregnancy test (negative) and today, on the 30th of August, I took the second one which also came back negative.
My question is, could I still be pregnant despite the negative tests? Should I take another test with the morning urine (I tested both times after work)? Maybe it is also related to my CML?
Please help me, I am already feeling desperate. I am being asked by my colleagues at work what is wrong because I am usually talkative but now I am withdrawn. My partner and I really wish for our own child. Please help us!!!!!

I understand your concern well. In theory, it is possible that the test was false-negative, meaning it showed negative even though you are pregnant.
The time elapsed since possible fertilization is enough for the test to be effective.
One option is to take another test with morning urine. However, I would recommend that you consult your gynecologist (especially due to CML). There, a blood test can definitively determine whether you are pregnant or not. Unfortunately, I cannot assess whether it has worked through this channel, but I wish you all the best and keep my fingers crossed!
