Genital herpes

As long as the blisters are not open, there is no acute risk of infection, or only the secretions of the blisters are contagious?
So if I treated the herpes beforehand and therefore no blisters have formed, could I not have infected my partner?
Best regards
Not quite. The secretion is contagious, but IF it has come into contact with vaginal secretion, viruses can still survive in it (unfortunately, I cannot specify a timeframe).
However, if no blister has formed at all, and especially not one that has come into contact internally with vaginal secretion, then you could not have infected your partner.
Your numerous inquiries show how concerned you are. That is why I remind you that many people can become infected at a young age and remain symptom-free for years until a herpes infection breaks out again. It is therefore also possible that your partner has long been carrying the virus. Antibodies are detectable in a quarter of adults. Nevertheless, it is completely okay for them to have unprotected sex during symptom-free times.
Sincerely, Dr. Gehring
