Frequent menstrual bleeding in a 12-year-old.
Dear Sir or Madam,
My daughter (who will turn 13 at the end of September) had her first menstrual period in early June of this year. It lasted approximately 5 days. Then, 32 days after the first period, she had a second period that lasted about 7 days. After another 32 days, she experienced a period lasting approximately 9 days. Then, 14 days after the start of this period, she had another period lasting 5 days. Now, just 9 days after the first day of her last period, she is already experiencing another period. The amount of bleeding could be described as "normal." I am aware that irregularities are common at the beginning of puberty, but I find this frequency concerning. I would like to spare my daughter the visit to a gynecologist, to which she - understandably at her young age - is quite skeptical, but I am a little worried.
I hope you can provide me with a brief informative response on how you assess the situation.
Thank you and best regards.
