Ask a doctor on the topic of General medicine

Re-requesting temperature.

Unfortunately, another question, Mrs. Gehring.

Unfortunately, I couldn't resist measuring again and measured in various situations. In the morning, the values were perfect at around 36.6 degrees. Throughout the day, the thermometer shows around 37 degrees, as it should - but I am at rest during that time.

However, as soon as I do the smallest activities, such as showering or just climbing 20-30 steps after a short walk, I read high values of 37, even 38.0. You mentioned that this is completely normal.

Is such a rapid increase in temperature normal with minimal activity? During exercise, it seems that values over 38.5 are common - which reassures me. As soon as I relax again, it settles back to a low 37 degrees.

I hope this is my last question and you can reassure me that I am exaggerating.

Good evening,

Yes, you are exaggerating, and you should distract yourself whenever you feel the urge to measure anything. These values are all normal, and the normal value of 38 degrees applies to rest and not to stress. The normal person only measures when they are sick and lying quietly in bed.

Sleep well and enjoy how healthy you actually are!

Sincerely, Dr. Gehring
