Overheating hypothermia

Dear Sir or Madam,

I have a question that has been bothering me for quite some time. Unfortunately, I have extreme fear of diseases, so the question may seem pointless, but it is not for me.

Last night before going to sleep, I set my heater to 5 because our apartment was so cold. The door in my room was closed and I unfortunately fell asleep. I woke up about 3 hours later and it was hot in my room, the heater is very strong. I was only wearing a short pajama but I was slightly sweating. I then turned off the heater and opened the window next to my bed completely. I also felt a little warm. I fell back asleep and woke up again 4 hours later and the room had about the outside temperature... about 13-14 degrees.

I did not google, as it only fuels my fear. Can one get heatstroke or overheat in a very warm room and how would that manifest, I have heard that it is very dangerous? Or, in cold weather, can one get hypothermia?

I feel normal so far, except that I was a little thirsty this morning. I have a body temperature of 36.2 degrees under the armpit.

Should this be checked by a doctor and at what symptoms should one go to the doctor? Can overheating or hypothermia occur in such a scenario and should I expect consequences from the night? I know it may sound silly, but when I think too much, these questions arise in me and then I worry.

Best regards.

Dear questioner, the body has protective reflexes that protect you from overheating or getting too cold while sleeping. This only becomes dangerous when alcohol is involved. The only exception would be catching a cold. Regards, Welsch
