Second almond problem
Dear Sir or Madam,
For exactly one week now, I have had a light coating that extends over my right tonsil. I do not have a fever (I haven't had one the entire time), no pain, just a slight scratch on the first day. I had asked a question here before and was advised to gargle and see a doctor if there are any pains. I am a bit tired but have not been sleeping well the past few nights. In my opinion, it has improved slightly, but it's still there and the area is relatively large (on the right from my perspective, on the left in the picture).
I visited a doctor on Sunday and she said the tonsil looks a bit pink, she sees the coating but the tonsil is not wet enough. She recommended gargling with aspirin and waiting, coming back if there are any pains or fever. It has been three days since then and it looks the same, slightly better than on Sunday. Unfortunately, I tend to be anxious when it comes to illnesses. So, here are my questions:
1) Should I go back tomorrow and ask for an antibiotic? Or should I continue drinking my tea and gargling?
2) I am a bit scared that if it is bacterial, it might spread to my body or I might contract a virus (sepsis) or trigger endocarditis. How do you assess the risk?
3) I have been resting (no exercise, studying mostly from home), but I still attended my evening class and went for a walk about 2 times a day for 30-40 minutes. How do you assess this?
4) What is your general advice for me? How should I proceed with this matter?
Thank you for your time and have a lovely evening!
