Spots on the shin

Dear Sir or Madam,

last night I had an itching sensation on both of my shins and I scratched them quite a bit. I then applied a skin cream because my legs were very dry. I noticed yesterday that my skin had 4 light spots on the right side, about 7 mm in diameter. They looked like two light blue spots and two less light spots, and I thought maybe I bumped into something without realizing it in the past few days. I can't remember anything spontaneously and I don't know exactly since when I have the spots, they are right above the shin bone. This morning, the spots are much more intense. They are light brown/slightly red, yellow?. Now I wonder whether I should wait or go to the doctor. I unfortunately have a certain fear of illness and therefore I am afraid to overlook something serious.

They do not hurt when pressed and no longer itch. In general, I feel well except that sometimes in the morning I have a runny nose and today a slightly softer stool. I have attached the two pictures. The lighter picture was taken in indoor light, the one today in daylight. The spots were more intense in color yesterday and today than in the photo.

Yours sincerely

Christian Welsch

Dear questioner, the images shown appear to be superficial bruises, which can sometimes occur without any memorable trauma. The skin on the shin is very sensitive. I would recommend monitoring it, and if it does not go away or worsens, consult a doctor. It does not appear to be anything dangerous.
Regards, Welsch
