Urethritis?

Good morning,
I have been experiencing the following symptoms for about a week:
- Burning and itching in the front area of my penis (inside - urethra?)
- however, no burning sensation when urinating!

It all came on suddenly (Friday evening after work in the office).
It was somewhat better on Saturday, but on Sunday the burning sensation (feeling of needing to urinate) was so strong again that I decided to take Cystenol. I also took it on Monday.
However, there was no real improvement.
On Wednesday (14.11.) I went to see my general practitioner. He examined my urine - no bacteria!
He examined my penis: no abnormalities!

He diagnosed a bladder infection and prescribed me Cystenol again.
In the evening, I also took InfectoTrimet 200mg (one tablet) with the Cystenol. By Thursday, the symptoms were almost gone, but I continued taking Cystenol and InfectoTrimet (as per the package insert).
Today, Friday, the symptoms are stronger again (burning and itching in the front part of the penis - inside).

What could be the cause of the above symptoms?
How can I treat this?
If it is a urethritis, how long does it take to get rid of it?

Good morning,

I recommend a therapy with Ciprofloxacin for 10 days 250 mg 2x1 / day in case of obvious unhealed inflammation.

Furthermore, a swab should be taken from the urethra to avoid overlooking other inflammations and diseases.
