No more ejaculation with diabetic polyneuropathy.

As a diabetic with poorly controlled diabetes, I always expected that I would eventually suffer from erectile problems. I had accepted this for myself. However, it all started over 10 years ago in the following way. I no longer experienced ejaculation. I still had a normal climax during sex, but ejaculation has been absent since then. The urologist at the time said that this was normal and if I did not want to father children, I would have to accept it. The problem is that there are only urologists in the vicinity that are accessible to me. The potency problems started about 4 years ago, but it was completely new to me that there was no more ejaculation occurring. Is this really correct?

Dear inquirer,

Sexuality is a very individual matter for most people. Even in diabetes with suspected diabetic neuropathy, sexual function can vary completely from patient to patient. Of course, you should first have your diabetes perfectly controlled to prevent further deterioration, and then a neurologist should assess the condition and presence of any diabetic neuropathy. Medication side effects can also be a possible cause of your ejaculation disorders. There are a variety of causes of erectile and ejaculation disorders. I recommend consulting with your urologist for detailed advice. There are also physiotherapeutic options to improve erectile and ejaculation function.

Otherwise, I can only say that it can really vary a lot from patient to patient.

I wish you all the best.

Sincerely,

Dr. Meyer
