The catheter has come loose.

I have a suprapubic catheter due to various urological problems. I often experience urinary retention, chronic cystitis, and frequent epididymitis. I am currently on vacation and the catheter has slipped out. I am able to urinate somewhat normally. Is it possible for something to happen due to the slipped out catheter, and can I wait until after my vacation to see a doctor?
Dear inquirer,
The access to the bladder can close up, so I would recommend getting a new catheter inserted as soon as possible. By the way, you can also use regular bladder catheters. It is unclear whether the access to the bladder can be found again after a long time. It may be necessary to make a new puncture.
If urinating normally is also possible, it may be that a lot of residual urine remains, increasing the risk of infection.
Whether you want to interrupt your vacation is up to you to decide. Probably nothing serious will happen, but it is not ideal.
Best regards,
D. Meyer
