Venlafaxine and intraocular pressure

Hello!

I have been taking Venlafaxine since yesterday. I suffer from an anxiety disorder. The package insert states that special caution is required in cases of glaucoma (increased intraocular pressure). Should I have my intraocular pressure checked before continuing to take the tablets? Three months ago, I went to the eye doctor for a routine check-up regarding my vision, and everything was fine. I have a terrible fear of a glaucoma attack and/or blindness. Please help me. Best regards.

Hello,

You are lucky that you have recently been examined by an eye doctor and therefore KNOW that everything is fine with your eyes. Therefore, you don't have to be afraid of an increased intraocular pressure. Furthermore, an increased intraocular pressure is still far from a glaucoma attack and even further from blindness.
So, fortunately, there really is no reason to panic.

Best wishes,
