Macular edema
In 2014, cataracts were diagnosed in both eyes, as well as early AMD. The right eye was operated on, and due to a heavily wrinkled membrane, a PPV was performed and an aspheric blue filter lens was implanted. Despite treatment with various eye drops, macular edema developed. Due to worsening vision, treatment with Avastin via ivom was done 9 times. There has been residual moisture for 8 months, and no more ivom has been administered since then. OCT monitoring is ongoing.
My question: Do the injections help at all in the absence of the vitreous body? So after a PPV?
