Mestinon

Hello,
the neurologist suspects that I have Myasthenia Gravis and prescribed me Mestinon 10mg. I take 1-1-1 because of my double vision, but I do not notice any improvement. Is the dosage still too low? Blood test was inconclusive, as well as the MRI. What if I don't have an autoimmune disease at all? Can these tablets harm a healthy person?
Thank you in advance.
Hello,
I would discuss with the neurologist whether you can take 2 or three at once (if you were truly ill, at least 3 should lead to a significant improvement within 30 minutes); up to three per dose is acceptable.
Mestinon does not harm, but can only have the described side effects (diarrhea, increased saliva etc.) while taking it. After stopping, the side effects disappear. If you did not have myasthenia, you would not sustainably harm yourself.
All the best!
