EEG abnormal

Hello.
I was diagnosed with epilepsy 11 months ago. I was put on medication and have not had a seizure since then. I was also given a driving ban for 1 year.
Now, despite medication and 11 seizure-free months, my EEG shows an "increased seizure susceptibility."
My question is whether this seizure susceptibility is a problem for my driver's license (since I have been seizure-free for 1 year)? I can only find articles on the internet that say you can drive again after 1 year, but they don't mention anything about seizure susceptibility...
Thank you in advance.

Dr. med. Frauke Gehring

Hello,

The increased susceptibility to seizures itself should not be a reason to deny you the driving license. Apparently, your medication is able to prevent the seizures.
Unfortunately, there are no clear guidelines on when you can drive and when you cannot. It always remains a personal assessment by your treating neurologist. If he does not allow you to drive, it is worth consulting a second colleague.

I wish you all the best!

Sincerely, Dr. Höllering
