Heliopacter

Dear experts,
Last week I was prescribed Levofloxacin heumann 250 mg, amoxi 1000, and pantoprazole by the hospital after a gastroscopy due to Heliobacter pylori bacteria. I have not taken it yet because I am a bit scared of the side effects. I am worried that I might end up in a bad state because I am also taking escitalopram and occasionally experience heart palpitations. Should I be concerned about this or can I still take the medication? Additionally, I play football and would like to continue doing so. Is there any issue with taking the tablets while playing sports?
Best regards

Hello,

It is a bit unusual to take so many tablets at once, but it is a therapy against Helicobacter that has been tested for years and is mostly well tolerated (except for some nausea or circulation problems).

You can also take the tablets in combination with Escitalopram. There is no problem with playing football, unless you have some issues with tolerating it. In that case, just skip the week in which you are taking the medication, and then start again.

Good luck!

Sincerely, Dr. Höllering
