Gastritis

Hello, since this afternoon I have been experiencing recurring cramp-like abdominal pains. The symptoms become very strong for a few minutes and then subside, leaving behind mild discomfort and occasional belching. I am a bit anxious because I had ulcers four years ago and have had frequent digestive problems such as heartburn since then. But now I am experiencing acute pain again. When I am lying still, it is bearable, but it gets worse when I sit or move, for example when I bend over. I have taken 20 mg of pantoprazole and Iberogast drops. About two weeks ago, I had a gastroscopy which showed only mucosal damage and slight bleeding, but I had no pain at that time. Could this be an acute inflammation of the mucosa or ulcers? I have had loose, yellowish stools for weeks now, which is strange. The pain is the only thing bothering me at the moment.

Good evening,

Such pains usually indicate a stomach inflammation. However, it cannot be ruled out that it could be an ulcer again.
You have already done everything right with Pantoprazole.
It would also be helpful to drink a lot of tea. This calms the stomach and flushes out the stomach acid that is still inside.
If you are very worried, you can still go to a hospital, but as you describe it, you should now give Pantozol the opportunity to take effect.

Best regards,
