Stopping the pill after 22 years

Hello!
Since I was 18 years old, I have been taking the pill. Now I am 40 years old and want to stop taking the pill (I recently developed a sensitive bladder, which is the reason). Now I am afraid of stopping after 22 years without a break:
1. hair loss, 2. bad skin, 3. I have had too many male hormones since my youth (slight beard) and without the pill, it could become a problem again.
Are my concerns justified? Or how likely are these 3 points?
Hello,
Unfortunately, your concerns may be valid. While hair loss can start quite quickly, skin aging may take a bit longer. The relative excess of testosterone will likely readjust itself.
Alternatives:
Perhaps it would be best to consult a urologist first and try 3-4 approaches to improve the overactive bladder (medication, pelvic floor stimulation, etc).
Consider other hormone therapies (patches, creams) and different contraceptive methods (IUD).
In any case, discuss with a gynecologist or endocrinologist and monitor hormone levels regularly.
I am sorry to have to confirm your concerns, but that is the situation.
Best regards, Dr. R. C. Berg
