Bleeding in the middle of the cycle

Dear Sir or Madam,

I have something on my mind. My last period was from April 22-25. My ovulation should be in 2 days, however yesterday from 7 pm I had slight pain on the right ovary area until around 2 am. Not strong pain, I could do everything rather an uncomfortable pressure or pulling sensation. No other symptoms. At first, I thought it was my back or hip because I sat strangely in the cinema before. By far no pain that could occur with a period for example.
At 2 am, I had blood in my discharge, not a lot but more than a drop (about 3-4) and very red, like at the beginning of a period. Only once after that, it was clear again, today partly a very small amount of brownish but very minimal. I have often had mid-cycle pain and also a tiny drop of blood around ovulation, but this time it was more.

I am a little scared that it was a cyst and I might be overlooking internal bleeding. Today I feel fine, I also went climbing, just sometimes a dull pulling sensation when walking if you focus on it. No circulation problems, no pain on pressure, just sometimes a little brown discharge.
Now I have read that bleeding can occur with a cyst (I have had cysts before that always burst during my period) and they can be life-threatening. How would one notice internal bleeding or can it also occur without symptoms?

Thank you and have a nice Sunday.

Hello!
Thank you for your question.
The symptoms you are describing could indeed be caused by a cyst that has ruptured. This usually happens without a major bleeding. A significant bleeding into the abdomen is a very rare complication. Typically, you would have experienced circulatory problems shortly after the onset of pain, feeling unwell and would have therefore sought medical attention on your own. Therefore, I see no reason to worry. Give yourself some more time.
If the remaining symptoms persist in the next few days, you can always visit your gynecologist. If you experience unexpected severe symptoms, circulatory problems or similar, please go to the nearest hospital.
I wish you all the best!
