Hello, I have a question. What does it mean if I bled for 2 days even though my normal period should have come? Could I be pregnant because I also constantly have to go to the toilet and feel pressure on my bladder? I don't know what to do, please help me and reply quickly. Thank you in advance!
Dear inquirer,
I can understand your concerns well. Firstly, it depends on whether your cycle, meaning your periods, occur very regularly and last the same number of days each time. If this is the case, then a short duration of bleeding for 2 days (which can be normal for other women), may be caused by hormonal fluctuations. However, stress can also shift or alter the duration of bleeding. There are also women who have very irregular periods and fluctuating bleeding times.
In a normal pregnancy, there is usually no bleeding. Some women may experience a light bleeding around the 14th day after fertilization, known as "implantation bleeding", which can occur when the fertilized egg implants in the uterus. However, since your bleeding occurred on schedule (meaning at the time you would normally get your period), this is not very likely. I cannot rule out the possibility of pregnancy completely, so I recommend taking a pregnancy test or scheduling an appointment with your gynecologist.
Regarding the frequent urge to urinate: This can sometimes occur during pregnancy (although more commonly in later stages). On the other hand, it is possible that you have a urinary tract infection or irritation of the bladder. In this case, to rule out any issues, I recommend seeing your primary care physician. They can determine if everything is fine with your bladder.
I hope I could help you and wish you all the best.
Warm regards,
Susanne Plotz
