Cycle disturbance after curettage
Hello,
I am 33 years old and had a missed abortion with a dilation and curettage in February of this year at 7 weeks pregnant. Since then, I have been experiencing menstrual cycle disturbances. My cycle used to be 27 days long, with heavy bleeding in the first two days that then tapered off. Since the procedure, I have been experiencing fluctuations between 26-30 days (which I know is relatively good) and the bleeding is very light. Sometimes my period starts with two days of spotting. Previously, I used to require 3-4 tampons in the first days of my period, but now one tampon with a panty liner is enough. Additionally, I no longer observe stretchy cervical mucus on fertile days, which was different before the miscarriage.
How could these three symptoms (cycle fluctuations, light bleeding, and missing cervical mucus) be related and possibly attributed to the procedure? Could it be due to insufficient endometrial thickness and can that be promoted?
My next appointment with my gynecologist is in February and so far I have been thinking that maybe my body needs time to normalize, but it has been almost a year and I am starting to feel worried.
I look forward to hearing from you.
