Ask a doctor on the topic of General medicine

Sorry for the confusion, but the text "Nochmal" is already in German. If you would like a translation or explanation of a different text, please feel free to provide it.

Hello, it's me again. I spoke with my doctor and the blood levels are generally fine, except for the thyroid. I have to start taking medication again for that, but I already knew that. Tomorrow, I have to bring in a stool sample. I also have a headache today and I just don't know what else it could be. Do you have any advice for me? The stool is a bit greenish and has a strange, transparent mucus in it.

Dr. med. Frauke Gehring

Well, that's good!

The greenish stool may be related to a stomach infection, and the headaches could also be caused by the infection. In any case, you should stop worrying unnecessarily! You can take Paracetamol (over-the-counter) for the headaches, if necessary, and then please only consume tea, water, dry toast, and white bread until you feel better. This will help relieve the strain on your stomach.

We will then see what is found in the stool. It is likely that everything will be over in a few days.

Warm regards, Dr. Höllering
