I will call my general practitioner at 5 o'clock today and tell him that he only opens at 5 o'clock, so I'm really scared because I also have a headache and still feel a stabbing pain in my head at the lower left back of my head. Everything is really weird at the moment - first I couldn't pee, then I couldn't have a bowel movement, and today something grey came out. Before that, I had blood in my stool, probably a hemorrhoid because it was bright blood. I'm really scared and have a bit of a fever, but it doesn't go over 38 degrees - it's always around 37.9 to 38.1, nothing higher. My Gamma GT value was recently around 60, and I feel like I have to spit and my heart is racing.

Hello again,

Since you only have a slight fever, no dangerous headache (a sharp pain usually comes from the neck), no urinary retention anymore, and bright blood in the stool (which actually points to a hemorrhoid and not something more dangerous), there is no reason to panic!

A gamma-GT of 60 is elevated, but not so dangerous that liver failure should be feared. An infection can also cause the stool to change color. The palpitations can be explained by anxiety alone.

Please distract yourself until 5 pm and do not dwell on dark thoughts!

Sincerely, Dr. Höllering
