Givingitis?!

Hello, it's been a long time since I've had a gum issue. The 24-year-old Lupus patient... A few months ago, I went to the dentist and he noticed very thick gums and recommended a teeth cleaning... Unfortunately, I haven't done it yet... Yesterday evening, out of nowhere, I noticed a dark redness around my front tooth, and it is slightly inflamed towards the back! As I mentioned, I have SLE and am taking immunosuppressants... In my opinion, it looks like gingivitis! Now I'm reading online about leukemia, could that be possible for me? I'm starting to worry again... I hope you can help me, Dr. Gehring, or reassure me!
Hello,
Such redness could indeed be a gum inflammation, but can also occur if you injure your gums. However, even if you have gingivitis, it does not indicate leukemia at all! Leukemic gingivitis affects not just a small area, but the entire gums are more or less inflamed.
Why would you have leukemia now, without any other symptoms for it??
I can only advise you once again not to read so much on the internet, as it is completely unfiltered! You should get a dental cleaning due to immunosuppression, as this annoying, pronounced gum inflammation can promote even without leukemia.
Best regards, Dr. Gehring
