Suddenly high blood pressure and little difference between systole and diastole.

Hello, since a minor heart attack two years ago (NSTEMI), my grandmother (still fit, but 92 years old) has been taking Clopidogrel and Amlodipine (5mg) in the morning. This has helped her maintain good blood pressure levels for the past two years. However, for about a week now, her blood pressure readings have suddenly been around 160/130, which I found to be quite strange. As a result, she has now been prescribed Enalapril (10mg) in the evening. This has stabilized her blood pressure to around 130/120. However, I am concerned that the lower value of 120 is quite high, especially being so close to the upper value. Is this a problem? Or in other words, should we be concerned about a physical issue that requires action, or is it common for the lower value to be this high? I am surprised because in the past, she has struggled with low diastolic pressure under medication. I would appreciate any guidance you can provide. Best regards!

Hello, it's not worrisome yet, a blood pressure adjustment can take up to 14 days to take effect. With such a small difference between the values, I would almost suspect a defective device. How is your grandmother doing? What kind of device are you using to measure?
