Foreign body sensation in oral mucosa
Hello Mrs. Gehring, it's been a while since I contacted you with a small issue... After several psychotherapy sessions, I've been feeling quite well in the past few weeks, and my lupus is still under control... By the way, I have turned 25 now... Two days ago, I noticed a slight foreign body sensation on the palate mucosa, around the uvula. I used a flashlight to look inside, but didn't see anything unusual. Upon closer inspection, I noticed a small red thread when I let the uvula rest on my tongue and it rotated slightly. I don't think it's anything major or unusual, but the sensation could be coming from it. However, I'm not sure as it could be something completely normal that I've just never seen before... The sensation doesn't bother me when speaking or swallowing, I only feel it slightly occasionally and when I provoke it by rubbing the mucosa at the back. Before this, I had sushi with wasabi, and my mucosa sometimes reacts sensitively to certain mustards, if that's of any interest... Now I'm obviously afraid it might grow bigger and be a precursor to something malignant. Of course, you can't give a precise answer from a distance, but maybe you can reassure me about this? Or perhaps have a guess at what it could be? Thanks in advance! Greetings.
