Purple Spot Afterwards

Hello Mrs. Gehring, it's me again, 25 years old, lupus patient. About 5 years ago, I was a little scared of an anal fistula... my anus was always a bit irritated, but nothing was found by the doctor... Now, about 2 months ago, I felt a slight irritation to the right of the anus, it hurt a little but I didn't see anything in the mirror... I also thought it might be irritation from hair... Yesterday evening, it briefly pricked, and when I touched it, I felt a slight bump, really small but noticeable, maybe like a small pimple... Unfortunately, I could only take a photo, where you can see a small purple spot! Now I'm really scared of a fistula... However, nothing is coming out and in my opinion, there is no opening... or could it be the first signs of an abscess? But no feeling of tension, and no problems with bowel movements so far... I hope you can reassure me! Unfortunately, I can't attach a picture right now, it's a small purple spot far outside near the anus, almost transitioning to normal skin.

Good morning,

This is typical for a hemorrhoid, and if there is a small clot inside or if it is inflamed and hardened, it can be felt thicker. Your symptoms also fit perfectly with this. You can try a hemorrhoid cream. If it does not improve quickly, a doctor should check to see if suppositories would be better for you. Fistulas cause other symptoms!

Sincerely, Dr. Gehring
