Post-circumcision care

I was circumcised 10 days ago. When can I stop using dexpanthenol and compresses? Also, I have a slight swelling around the wound. How long will it take for it to go away?

Good evening, thank you for your inquiry. Dexpanthenol and the compresses are meant to protect the wound from rubbing against clothing. After 10 days, the wound should be healed enough that protection is only necessary when there is a lot of friction, for example when riding a bike. However, it is difficult to assess from a distance, so I am speaking from experience. The swelling in the wound area will initially decrease quickly, but the remaining swelling may take longer. It is typically expected to take 14 days, but if it takes longer, there is no need for concern. This also depends on the extent of the procedure. I hope I was able to provide you with the information you were looking for, but a more accurate assessment can only be made with direct observation.

Get well soon,
