Incontinence due to herniated disc

Hello,

I (26, male) have been suffering from back pain for a long time due to sedentary work and lack of movement. A mild herniated disc in the lumbar spine was diagnosed a few weeks ago and Manual Therapy/Physiotherapy was prescribed. I have completed my last session last week and have been practicing yoga daily as recommended. The back pain has slightly improved, but now it has shifted down towards the sacrum. Additionally, I have also been experiencing stomach pain and slight nausea during the whole time of my back issues, but that has also improved now. I have another issue for the past week, hence the question.

I have a constant sensation of urine leakage, accompanied by a very slight burning at the tip of the penis. It feels more like ejaculation, for example during a wet dream, rather than urination and nothing actually comes out, just the sensation is there. It sometimes gets "worse" with certain movements, such as sitting down after walking for a while, or standing up after sitting for a long time, or lying on my stomach when pressure is applied to the region. I have also noticed that the sensation intensifies when pressure is applied to the perineum. Otherwise, there are no complaints during urination, ejaculation, or elsewhere, no pain, and I do not need to go to the bathroom more frequently.

This has been going on for about a week now and it is causing quite a bit of discomfort because I never really know if something is actually coming out.

Could this be another symptom of the herniated disc, and if so, should it improve on its own soon?

I should also mention that I am under a lot of stress and occasionally have psychologically based problems (nausea before stressful situations, and similar issues).

I seek advice,

Thank you very much!

This sounds like an irritation of the prostate. It is probably also independent of the back problem. It is important to drink a lot and use heat. Stress is of course also unfavorable here. Supportive phytotherapy can be done, for example, with Pollstimol. If the symptoms persist, a urological examination is advisable. Best regards, Dr. T. Kreutzig-Langenfeld
